this cake is/was my most favorite of favorite things. when i worked in an office, the inevitable happy birthday parties lifted the spirits of all when this cake was revealed from its cardboard home. of course in guam, such a delicacy must be made in the comfort of my own home. since fresh produce is as scarce as crack in a monastery - strawberries and blueberries can be found frozen. unfortunately, i'm not martha stewart & can't make magic from flash frozen fruits.
i am hoping that when we go back home i can purchase this cake. hopefully our trip will be long enough to soothe the aches homesickness brings.
on a bright note the sunset was beautiful here tonight in guam. i am one to be fascinated with all things color...call me easily amused. so here is a few pics of the sky here in ol' guam.
